In Sardinia there are among the oldest Europe's rocks.

Granites, schists and basalts which, shaped by geological eras, have created a harsh and impervious territory: canyons, plateaus, hills and notable karst systems.

Geology is not only the background but also influences the very matrix of the communities. Natural barriers are guardians of autonomy and identity.

Man originally lived the landscape respecting its shape. Nuraghe, giants' tombs, domus de janas, sacred wells... everything is carved into the rock, not on top of it!
